This is a story about a four-year-old little girl whose heart wanted nothing but to love and be loved. Her heart was battered and bruised until it became unresponsive, unyielding and detached from the sources of pain and the authentic comfort of a loving God. By the age of nine, she learned how to find her own way of coping with pain through the process of detachment and attachment. She created a self she wanted to be so that she didn’t have to identify with the pain associated with her life. What she didn’t know was her response, reaction and trained way of handling pain would lead her into a desert for forty years. Forty years later, at the age of forty-nine, she would come full circle to the place within where it all began!
